Hello Everyone!

I pray everyone is enjoying this beautiful rain while it lasts :-) LOL
One way I have found to pass the time during this rainy season is lapbooking. There is a wonderful Catholic lapbook site where you can get plenty of ideas from. I have bought a couple from this site, (We did the Advent one and I bought the Works of Mercy one, but never did it.) The prices are great for the lapbooks and a wonderful starting point for beginners. (http://www.lapbooksforcatholics.com/) They have a great one, Year of the Priests which I am considering doing once we are done with a few we have going on right now. We are working on a Zoology lapbook put out by Apologia. It has been great fun and will take us through most of the summer for the first seven chapters. Joseph Jr. (who made his first Holy Communion Sunday!!) and I worked on a First Holy Communion lapbook over the last few months. It came out very nice. This one we did from scratch using our own ideas. It was a lot of fun, and we really enjoyed spending that quality time together on something that meant so much to him. We are also working a Continent one and the five Senses. In the end it is really nice to have something concrete for the children to go back and look through. They are also very easy to store on book shelves. If anyone would like, I would love to have a get together and show you how lapbooking is done.

What are you doing to pass the time in this rainy season? I am shutting the computer off before the thunderstorm does lol.

Have a blessedly wet day and stay safe!!

God bless,
Jennifer Smile

Jen,

WOuld you be able to maybe do one of the parent meetings on lapbooking for those of us who are visual learners?! I would very much like to do more and know there are others who would love to learn as well!!

Thanks!! Liz

Hi Liz,

Yes, that is a good idea. I will talk with Pauline, who is the support group coordinator, and see when we can do a lapbook workshop.

God bless,
Jennifer Smile
